Marvin Lee Allen passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the age of 78, in Poteet, Texas. He was born in Morenci, Arizona on July 9, 1942, to Benny Anson Allen and Tressa Nelli Newton-Allen.Marvin grew up across Texas at various schools and graduated from Sul Ross University. While pursuing his master's degree and teaching, he received the call to join the U.S. Armed Forces in Vietnam.
After leaving the U.S. Navy, Marvin ended up in Phoenix, Arizona where he would continue his love for strength and conditioning. During this period, he worked as the Head Strength Coach at Arizona State University, lead trainer at Jon Cole Systems, and coached various professional and amateur athletes. Marvin's coaching career took him from Phoenix, AZ, to Tolleson, AZ, Round Valley, AZ, Mission, TX, Fort Stockton, TX and finally Somerset, TX.
Marvin loved working with students and athletes which he continued this passion until his last day.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Geri Marie Tucker Allen; sons, Matthew Allen, and Jeffrey Allen and wife Clarisa; daughters, Marnie Raymond and husband Keith and Bethanie Allen-Castillo and husband Victor; grandchildren, Blake Allen, Koy Allen, Mia Allen, Tyce Allen, Christian Allen, Adrienne Allen, Jesse Raymond, Alexa Raymond, Jayden Castillo, Logan Castillo; sister Barbara Lowrance; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
